Beautiful Buildings, who knew?

When Tom and I were in St. Petersburg for the adoption, we had the priveledge to go sight seeing.  Tom and I were amazed at all the beautiful architecture in the Cathedrals and Palaces.

When I was there, I said, there isn't anything like that in Illinois....boy was I wrong.

On our way home from St. Louis last week, we decided to stop and see the capital of Illinois.  We had never been there before.  Since it is summer, there was hardly anyone there, and it was a Saturday, but we lucked out.  We went into the capital building and they were just about to start a tour.

We were shocked to see the beautiful rooms, the high cathedral, the statues and the marble.  It was beautiful.

I really had a wonderful time, seeing our State Capitol.  I will definately bring the kiddos there to see it.

Great pictures! When I was little, we used to take the train to Springfield every couple of years and spend the day there. It's a great city.

You were in St. Louis!?! I would have waved if I knew you were here. Anything fun? Next time give me a holler if you're interested in meeting up?

P.S. I did make Natalia's cake.
